Plugin Busua exhibited at Venice Architecture Biennale 2023
The installation Plugin Busua opened as part of Lesley Lokko’s Curator’s Special Project Guests from the Future at the Venice Architecture Biennale 2023. The work brings the spatial presence of a community surf lodge in Ghana into the gallery through large-scale architectural fragments, sound, and film. Captured in a 14-minute piece by artist Nii Obodai, the installation immerses visitors in the textures and rhythms of everyday life on Ghana’s coast. The project was designed and realized by Juergen Benson-Strohmayer (now TAELON7) and Glenn DeRoché (now DeRoche Projects), with support from the African Futures Institute.
