Limbo Engawa Receives Recognition at AN Best of Design Awards 2026

TAELON7’s Limbo Engawa has received an Honorable Mention in the Temporary Installation category of The Architect’s Newspaper Best of Design Awards 2026.

Initially conceived for Limbo Museum in Accra, Ghana, and subsequently adapted and reassembled at Art Omi Sculpture & Architecture Park in New York, Limbo Engawa explores the potential of unfinished spaces as sites for collective life.

Constructed from modular steel frames and woven salvaged billboard material, the installation creates a lightweight, porous structure for gathering, rest and informal occupation. Its journey between Ghana and the United States demonstrates an approach to architecture that is adaptable, reversible and responsive to different contexts.

The project will also be featured in The Architect’s Newspaper Best of 2026 print edition.
